As a mom you get to experience things that you never plan on experiencing. On Thursday morning Amelia and Scott started to get bumps all over their bodies, I thought at first that it was hives from the way it looked, but then after doing a little research I knew that they had Scarlet Fever. Of course our doctor is not in on Thursdays and I was not about to wait a whole day to get them into someone. So we called the on-call doctor and when I told them my kids had Scarlet Fever they said OK, later they told us that they were pretty sure my prognosis was incorrect. Once the doctor looked at them, however, he knew that it was Scarlet Fever. The kids have been so good through all of this, the worst part by far is taking the awful amoxicillin. Nathan never got sick because babies up to two still have a maternal antibody, thank goodness for blessings. He has just had a very bad cold. Well, that is what we have been up to. Not fun. Oh yeah, we cleaned the garage and put up the tramp so that was nice.

Oh, yuck. That doesn't sound good at all. I thought scarlet fever was a thing of the past. I guess not. I hope you kids get feeling better.
That is just so crazy. thank goodness the kids are doing better and that you were able to figure out what it was. Give everyone loves and hugs for us.
That is so weird! I didn't think you could get scarlet fever anymore. Shows how much I know about illness' now days. I hope they all get feeling better!
